The painter's testimony:

In the last century, I lived in the Mandubaolige grassland, the hometown of 《Wolf Totem》, for more than ten years.
I realized that the nomadic culture and the grassland have been symbiotic for thousands of years, and it is a real
ecological civilization. For 50 years, my paintings have been associated with Steppe Grassland and I am very honored.

Resume of Chen Jiqun:
Born in 1947, he entered the High School attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1963. In 1967, he went to East Ujumchin Banner of Inner Mongolia with Jiang Rong and other students to graze, drawing a lot of sketches, and returned to Beijing in 1980.
In the 1980s, he became a professional painter. In the 1990s, he shuttled between prairie painting and foreign art exhibitions.
In 1999, he participated in the "Steppe expefience trio'99 Art show" of the National Art Museum of China.
In 2000, he founded the grassland website www.chenjiqun.com (www.163art.com), engaged in grassland painting and ecological protection work until now.
In 2015, he was awarded the title of "Advanced Cultural Worker" of Mongolia.
At present, he has several websites and works with environmental ngos in charge of grassland special funds;
Walking between painting and environmental protection.
